Welcome to the Meta(l)verse.<\/h3><\/div>

Kortrijk, Belgium – Aug. 6, 2024<\/strong> – Alcatraz, the hard rock and metal festival, once again set the tone by offering a revolutionary experience to its festival-goers. To do so, Alcatraz partnered with TheMeadow.io, a company that is developing the festival meadow of the future by integrating different festivals into one virtual environment: the Meta(l)verse. This project provides new opportunities for the music industry and its ecosystem by making new technologies accessible to the general public. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A taste of the Meta(l)verse<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the festival grounds of Alcatraz 2024, taking place from Aug. 9 to 11, visitors can get a glimpse of what the future holds. In a specially set up trailer, festivalgoers can create their own avatar and experience a virtual music video like never before. With the help of VR glasses and special vests that make the music “tangible,” this experience was an unforgettable addition to the festival. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Compelling technology for all ages<\/strong><\/p>\n

All visitors are invited to participate in this revolutionary experience and discover the possibilities of the Meta(l)verse. For those who think that hi-tech experiences are only for the younger generation are wrong. Studies show that the metaverse will explode in popularity in the coming years, especially in the live and entertainment sector, thus offering opportunities for all ages. <\/p>\n

Although the focus this year is mainly on getting to know such experiences, Alcatraz has big plans for the future. Luc Van Utterbeeck, founder of TheMeadow.io, explains: “In the next phase, Meta(l)fresh Alcatraz Island will be expanded with additional stages, performances and gamification options. TheMeadow.io combines technology and music in an innovative way. Widem Logistics has supported TheMeadow.io since its inception.
